For much of our series examining the War of 1812, we have focused on the Canadian front – Upper Canada and Lower Canada. We have touched in passing on some of the facets of the war outside of this area, but this week, we will be concentrating on a theatre of the war that was exclusively in the United States.

And, unlike the other engagements we have talked about, will have no involvement of Canadian militia.

This week, we look at the Chesapeake campaign, which started in the spring of 1813 and went right up to the fall of 1814.
