In June of 2002, the life of Kara Robinson would change as she knew it. While in her best friend's front yard,  she was approached by a man who put a gun to her neck and forced her into his car. This man would go on to take Kara to his apartment where he held her captive for 18 hours before her daring escape. Not only did she escape, but she also helped capture him.

Kara would go on to enter law enforcement herself and now uses her experience as well as years of work in law enforcement to speak to groups around the country. She tells her story as a means to help educate those who work with victims and empower individuals to be the best version of themselves they can be, regardless of their past.
